Monterra Single Vineyard Grenache 2023

A single vineyard Grenache from the Blewitt Springs sub-region of McLaren Vale, this is a terrific example of what we are seeing from this much maligned variety, these days. Even better, it is cracking value. It has that appealing savoury red-fruited nature to it with notes of warm earth, fresh herbs in the sun, leather and raspberries. There is juicy acidity and the palate exhibits a hint of roast meat. The wine has very good length and finishes with fine, if ever-so-slightly gritty tannins. Enjoy it over the next five to seven years.
