Canberra Tempranillo? Absolutely and Mount Majura has been one of the country’s standout Tempranillo makers for some time as this grape variety loves a climate with a slightly cool edge.
This is again one serious Tempranillo style that is immediately complex and varietal. Although only medium-bodied it shows a real sense of underlying brooding power with rich and fleshy blue fruits underscored by tarry, liquorice elements providing a very attractive rustic edge. The palate is dry, focussed and tannic with great balance but still wound up tight needing a decade to show its best.
