Aged in 300L terracotta amphora, unfiltered, unfined and inspired by the winemaker’s trip to Italy, Anfore offers up a very different interpretation of the grape, one seeped more in Italian tradition than traditional Aussie winemaking. The big difference: extended time on lees. Arrives in mid-gold hues. Pretty intense in aromas of stone fruit, apricot, resin, pear, honeyed toast, spice and almond skin. So smooth, waxy and honeyed with an Asian-inspired group of spices, almond nougat and preserved lemon. Flexes its savoury muscles big time. Incredible concentration and buttery smooth. A wine of many different sides.
