Pirathon ‘Silver’ Shiraz 2017

A powerfully persuasive argument on what it is we like about bold Barossa shiraz. First, it looks tempting, deeply coloured with good concentration. Second, its aromas feed the imagination with dark berry, spice, forest floor all in great harmony. And third, flavours are intense offering a big mouthful of wine that is velvety, ripe fruited and long, the fruit moving from blackberry, licorice, dark chocolate and leather to baked earth.

In comparison to the 2018, also available, this is a more muscular tannic example of the style which is on the high side alcohol-wise (15%). It’s a pretty intense tasting experience.
