Oliver’s Taranga DJ Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Share

A mighty good example of McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon. Comes off a block planted in 1948 with an unknown clone and made in a similar way to the Grenache and Shiraz with open fermentation, indigenous yeasts and no sulphur, tannin or acid added. As you might expect it has the highest percentage of new French oak influence which is easily accommodated by the fruit intensity. There is a slightly leather, iron filings rust-like character which I find most appealing as it complements the vibrant dark fruits. Distinctive.
