Oliver’s Taranga Tempranillo 2022

Is it a bad thing when a wine smells like your childhood? Hear me out – there’s aromas of strawberries and cream and fruity, cherry creaming soda – zesty and vanilla-scented. Not to mention black jellybeans (the good ones from the Chemist) and fresh blueberry pie.

It’s bright and fresh with balanced acidity that holds the 14.5% alcohol gently. There are then fine gravelly tannins supported by fruit to an impressive finish.

Drink with lamb chops on the barbie, a mound of potato salad and chimichurri
