Rhubarb stem, raspberry and Davidson plum skin. Rosella and rosehip florals. A sliver of red cherry and Gala apple skin. There is dried clay earthiness with tobacco leaf and dried cumin spice. The palate is lively with bright, crunchy Morello cherry acidity and dusty tannins. A delicately layered wine with a nice amount of fruit, earth and spice for a handy price indeed. Drink now and will cellar for 3-4 years. This is the kind of wine I’d like to have on hand at all times. A wine for drinking whilst you prepare dinner, or when you sit down to a cajun chicken thigh mid week. It’s stellar value for money and kind of makes you wish the Pannell family were related somehow. Tasty.
