Parker Coonawarra Estate Chardonnay 2017

Share

The oaky chardonnay has almost become an endangered species. With winemakers increasingly focussing on more elegant styles, which is not a bad thing, bigger and richer wines have become rarer and rarer. This wine is an each way bet with plenty of oak and flavour without going overboard.

The wine is pale golden in colour and dishes out powerful white peach and nectarine fruits with butter and oaky complexity plus an attractive little savoury edge thanks to its wild yeast ferment. That fruit power continues in the mouth with a dry and full-bodied style supported by some fresh acidity showing its cooler Coonawarra origins. A tasty and approachable wine for fans of 90s Australian Chardonnay.
