Parker Estate 95 Block 2022

Share

A little more Petit Verdot (19%) than sometimes employed in the past is blended here with Cabernet Sauvignon (91%).  It was a cool season in Coonawarra, and it has resulted in a lovely understated quality to Block 95. Indeed, it’s still pretty tight and young with time definitely on its side. Deep red in colour.  Offers a tight bundle of flavour well controlled and structured in fine, lithe tannins with plush fruit. Black fruits, dark plum, dark woody spices, red earth, dried herbs, chocolate. Cedar and pencil lead/graphite tones are noted and nicely well integrated following 16 months in barrel. At this stage in its life, this is essentially a wine about structure, structure, structure through a prism of ripe Coonawarra Cabernet flavours. It offers a serious depth of fruit intensity and dried herbs with Petit Verdot backbone. It’s a good varietal match.
