Of the two Shirazes tasted, this is the more herbal and earthy one, with a lighter touch than its 14.5% alcohol would lead you to believe. It’s almost like taking a stroll through a verdant forest with its characters of pine and pepper, and oodles of red and black cherry and raspberry, and some dried fruit notes emerging now with bottle age. The palate is incredibly juicy and moreish and when combined with food, the fruit sings and the wine takes on extra depth. A lovely wine to pair with a lamb roast.
