A new icon Chardonnay from revered label Petaluma. Sourced from the ‘finest parcels’ in the Adelaide Hills, including Chardonnay jewel Piccadilly. Ben Thoman oversees the winemaking of whole bunch pressed fruit retaining high solids while being fermented in barrel and Drunk Turtle amphorae. Gleaming pale straw colour with an impressive nose. Rich with white stone fruit, plenty of struck match, yellow citrus pith, hints of peanut oil, thick sourdough crust, smoky oak and an inherent meatiness. A full expression of Chardonnay that retains structure and power through layers of complexity. Savoury, nutty oak and textural lees work, lay strong foundations for intense white nectarine and lemon fruit with plenty of persistence.
