Picardy Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2023

Share

There’s an inviting sweetness of fruit on the nose, coupled with some comforting vanillin oak use. Comfort isn’t a word that one would expect to use in the same sentence as Sauvignon Blanc, but then again, the Pannell winemaking family hasn’t been afraid to break the mould and reach new territory. Plush stone fruit, lemon zest, hints of baking spice and lightly toasted oak are interwoven with camomile, summer hay, beeswax and a hint of refreshing fresh herbaceousness. The palate has creamy edges and compelling phenolics, though the core is firmly one of Sauvignon Blanc with its bolt of acidity. Juicy, invigorating and classy. An SBS to take out to dinner.
