What is the difference between the white and black label Curator Greenock Vineyard Shiraz? Winemaker, Tom White, explains: “The black label is the single barrel which was singled out at tastings around the 10 month-mark. It didn’t negatively affect the blend being left out, so I kept it separate. “I do this when the opportunity presents.” Says something about the strength of the 2021 vintage, which some have described as “exceptional.” This is a wine that lives large in every sense. The intense purple colour grabs the eye. The lovely, bold mesh of fruit and spice captures your immediate attention in lifted black strap liquorice, bramble, blackberry, aromatic fennel seed, clove and tilled earth. Showcases Greenock’s effortless generosity beautifully with good integration throughout in a mix of black fruit intensity, spice, and toasted smoky oak, all dressed in robust, earthy tannins. Calls for words such as polished, distinguished and more.
