Pietro Wines Sang 100% Sangiovese 2023

Share

McLaren Vale fruit. Juicy, vibrant, fresh, and a darn right delicious Australian iteration of the variety, which originally hails from Tuscany in central Italy. It’s a lighter-hued Pinotesque shade of ruby in the glass, but don’t be deceived. This is packed with flavour and enough fruit concentration to hold your attention for a second sip. Juicy red cherries, cranberry, rosehip, and a sizeable framework of toasted choc-edged oak. Zippy and crunchy. What follows the immediate thirst-quenching effect on the palate are waves of fruit, berries of all shades from white currant and sour cherry to blackberry with a lick of vanilla and more of that toasty choc flecked oak. This is lovely, bright, easy-drinking Sangiovese with just enough talc-like tannic grip to remind you what it is. Yum.
