Pikes The EWP Shiraz 2022

Barrel selection is undertaken to compose this very fine Shiraz from their estate in the Polish Hill River sub-region. This follows ten months maturation in French oak, 8% new. A vibrant cherry hue here, the nose exhibits rather gorgeous notes of cassis, blueberries, plums, smoked meats, spices and black fruits. The palate is supple, seamless, tight, focused, balanced and giving us bright acidity and delicately laced tannins. There is good focus and everything is in sync while the palate sees the emergence of notes of graphite and black fruits which will provide immense pleasure for the next ten to fifteen years.
