2020 is turning out to be an interesting year down in Western Australia’s Great Southern region combining raw power with relatively ripe fruit but still with that firm regional acidity. Made by local star winemaker Rob Diletti, this wine has a typically pale colour showcasing its youthful vitality and is packed full of personality with exotic guava, circus, spice and musky fruits. It is then dry, textural and acid driven – citrus flavours are lifted by stony complexity with layer after layer of fruit complexity. It is powerful, long and well balanced suggesting good ageing potential although is already delicious to match up with salt and pepper calamari hot off the barbecue.
