The 2015 vintage of Brunello di Montalcino is highly regarded and this wine does not disappoint. It’s a big and broad shouldered wine that is already showing significant charm. Deep cherry red in colour, there is fantastic fruit complexity with a wide array of red cherry, sage, truffle and terracotta fruits with spicy oak well balanced and sitting in the background. In the mouth it is bold and rich with layers of sweet attractive fruit supported by firm tannins. The structure is good and drives a long, muscular finish. It is not the most subtle Brunello but is certainly impressive and will deliver plenty of flavour and impact over the next ten to fifteen years.
