Quin Wines Pyrenees Nebbiolo 2019

Share

This wine is made from the famous Malakoff region in Victoria’s Pyrenees region. It was planted in 2000 and over the years has been home to many groundbreaking wines. With the fruit Andrew and Skye Quin go for an unusual style – starting as whole bunches then five weeks on skins.

2019 was a hot year and it’s made for a big ripe Nebbiolo style. The fruit is plush and rich – concentrated layers of blackberry and black cherry fruits with a herbal, meaty, spicy edge. The hot year has made for an earlier drinking Nebb with supple tannins and moderate acid. There is plenty of fruit concentration and fruit length too making for a good drink over the short to medium term.
