Raga Sangiovese 2025

Share

Grown from 25 year old vines on Limestone over clay soils. Wild ferment with 20% whole bunches utilised. Pressed to French oak for 12 months. This is quite the potent wine with sarsaparilla, inky beetroot earthiness and wild raspberries. There is a liqueur cherry moment followed with oregano herbs and creeping thyme. Acidity is in 5th gear carrying along the sweep of dry tannins. This is medium to full flavour and moderate in heft and weight, shaping the palate with its structure and Mediterranean savoury nature. Bring out the roasted capsicum and paprika sausages for this one. Sangiovese meets Langhorne Creek’s blast of bold and opulent intensity. Drink now or hold for more rustic charm to emerge in 4-6 years.
