Richard Hamilton Ghost Hill Shiraz 2020

Share

Prune plums, blackberry and Acai fruits. Soft licorice, five spice and espresso. Cardamon pods, wattle seed and black earth. The wine opens on the palate to reveal a slippery and supple wine with a sweetness to the black berried fruit. Chocolatey prune pudding, vanilla bean and blackcurrant wine gums. There is an effort made to lift the fruit over the significant char of oak which makes for an interplay between the two. A wine you’d think you need to peer into its depths to uncover but it then surprises you with the vigour and energy of a teenager. Drink now and will cellar for 5 years. I’d love to see this wine with chicken liver and port pâte with toast points.
