An inviting bouquet of plum, blackberry, and smoky oak, with meaty notes swirling on top of the glass. On the palate, it is rich, concentrated and powerful. It offers a heady touch of chocolate milk, balancing the heat of the traditional goat curry I’ve paired it with. The glossy texture and compact tannins allow the curry paste to shine, delivering a creamy, spicy finish with every mouthful. Layered mocha textures dance across the palate, harmonising with the wine’s acidity and tannins. Blending the naan bread with the wine is utterly delicious, as the crispy crust enhances the rustic nature of the dish, creating a complex and exotically satisfying pairing. The interaction with the spices from the curry recipe is remarkable, uplifting, and persistent on the finish—a characteristic I always celebrate. Plush and generous, this wine’s rich, fruit-forward personality, ripe tannins, and generous oak make for a truly flavoursome experience.
