Riddoch Coonawarra The Winegrower Shiraz 2021

A fine textured, well-structured, medium bodied Coonawarra Shiraz boasting some stunning aromatics. One deep breath/mouthful is required to fit them all in from the large dose of pepper, sage and anise to the hints of vanillin and toasted oak sprinkled through black and red berried fruits. The palate is driven by smart, juicy tannins bringing life to a warmth of flavour built on solid fruit with blackcurrant pastille, licorice, super peppery spice and just a touch of savouriness. There is a steady hand behind the use of new and seasoned French and American oak, building weight and presence through to the finish. Shows the spicier, more aromatic side of Coonawarra Shiraz and is all the better for it.
