This is all stemmy, earthy, brambly blackcurrant on the nose, backed by black pepper and licorice. It could only be from Margaret River, and Margs it is. 2018 was a cracker vintage in Margaret River and produced wines of great intensity, balance, power, ripeness and acid. They’ve got it all.
There’s a blackness to the nose… speaking of liquorice, and a resinous charry oak character too. This has a slightly harder palate than expected, but very good for the price. Blue-Gold award at the Sydney International Wine Competition 2019.
