Riddoch The Author Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

A heady combination of dried lavender, dried rose petals and fine black tea leaves leap from the glass. Ripe blackberries and cherries are in abundance. In gorgeous contrast to all the pretty, lifted notes lies sun-warmed slate spritzed with seawater and the beautifully charred crust of a carefully tended sourdough. It’s medium bodied and so juicy – plump blueberries that burst between your teeth and bright summer cherries. At 4 years old it is still lively and youthful with just a hint of dried blackberries and leather. The acidity is beautifully integrated and whilst the tannins are young, they are perfectly ripe and fine. Such a beautiful example of what everything Coonawarra does so well.
