From four vineyard parcels three in Clarendon and one from Seaview. 27% whole bunch with parcels varying between 0 -38%. Blackberries, hawthorn and olives dried on the top of a rosemary focaccia. This is decidedly fragrant with wild forage black fruit entwined with the nettle and pine fronds of a mystic forest. Crushed black cardamom and long pepper spice twills nicely with the sensuousness of silky tannins and svelte frame. The completeness of fruit, spice, structure and pleasure is where this wine shines. A feast for all Syrah drinkers, The 48% new oak puncheons, cradle the soul of the wine. This is handsome indeed. Drinking well now but has the ability to age further in 10-12 years.
Shanteh cut her teeth at Sydney’s Award-Winning Quay restaurant where she worked for over a decade and was Head Sommelier from 2018 till 2022. She has been nominated for the Good Food Guide Sommelier of the Year award on three occasions and claims that her experience as a Len Evans scholar as one of the highlights of her career.
