Riddoch The Author Shiraz 2019

There is immediate pleasure as you bring your nose to the glass – it’s like burying your face in a blackcurrant bush – ripe berries, fragrant leaves and the comforting spice of wood and earth. So densely concentrated with a volcanic rock and ironstone minerality, dark chocolate and salted liquorice. In all of these brooding characters the fruit retains a lifted freshness with a bright peach-like acidity and perfectly rounded, seamless tannins. Remarkable now and certain to reward a little patience in the cellar.
