Whoa! That has to be the first utterance out of your mouth as you smell the might of this wine. Get ready cause this will take you on a ride. Boysenberry, pomegranate molasses, Ribena and clove. Crushed allspice, nettle and cedar. Stained mulberry fingers and black dirt, it’s the childhood outdoor play of dreams. The intensity of aromas with restraint on the palate is what makes this wine unique and tells the Coal River Valley story, perhaps with more vigour than we are used to. There is the uplifting kick of acidity and tannins are fine and silky, you won’t be able to stop yourself from sipping this. Best not to share a bottle with TOO many. This is cool climate Syrah that meets with excellent flavour ripeness with facets of detail from herbs, spice and oak. You won’t forget it once you try it. Drink now and will cellar for up to 5 years. Pair with slow cooked beef udon noodles.
