Shanahan’s Wines If Forever Exists Barossa Valley Shiraz 2024

The colour is an opaque, inky black with dark purple hues. The wine comes from Marananga and shows some of the distinctly sub-regional characters. There’s an intensity of blackberry and spice, along with a little of that graphite and oyster-shell-like minerality. The palate is pure and sublime. The richness is perfectly balanced with a fine and keenly integrated mix of fine tannins and plenty of oak, although the oak is anything but dominant. It’s a wine of tremendous focus and poise, extending effortlessly to a very long finish. This is plush, luxurious Barossa Shiraz with polish.
