Robert Oatley Signature Series Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2019

Share

The Robert Oatley Signature Series showcases well-versed regional-varietal match-ups, here in a delightful pairing of tight and bright cherry/strawberry/raspberry fruits with a deft touch of whole bunch and 20% new oak influence. While the fruit remains vibrant throughout, it’s the extra savoury layering that lifts this wine into classier territory. Juicy – tick. Spicy – tick. Now let’s talk texture, which often at this price does not impress. Here there is a definite chalkiness witnessed usually when a label brags “Reserve”. No need for hubris here – this is extraordinary value and arguably top of the class if you’re looking for a pleasing pinot in the mid $20s.
