SOUMAH Hexham Vineyard Savarro 2025

It’s a pretty unusual variety in Australia, hailing from northern Italy. It’s also another name for Savagnin, which has a heap of other names just to confuse everyone. Has subdued aromatics, but it’s the palate that most appeals. It was fermented on lees, and so it has a quite textural feel about it with a mix of lemon rind and orange. A little honey-like character fills out the palate, which is balanced by a fine, precise, chalky, minerally acidity. Really nice wine.
