Rock Ferry Aurora Creek Central Otago Pinot Noir 2022

The colour is a crimson ruby red, and is slightly translucent. This is a wine that has the Central Otago power on full display. Spicy dark cherry and slightly truffly mushroom characters on the nose open things, and then the palate displays that typical regional concentrated intensity yet with a fine silky smooth finish, a result of the fine tannin integration and the understated oak. The balance between the intense core of fruit and the slightly savoury dried herb and sage bush characters on the finish provides a compelling complexity.
