Seppelt St. Peters Shiraz 2023

Share

No longer a single vineyard wine, St. Peters remains sourced from Seppelt estate fruit. The ’23 reflects its cooler, wet vintage with a finer, more spice-enhanced personality while retaining its usual Shiraz dark fruited heart. Is it the role of whole bunches that brings that gorgeous spice? Whatever it is, it’s elevated and delightfully aromatic and peppery in tune with dark plums and berries, blueberry and chocolate. It’s a tribute to winemaker, Clare Dry, that the wine retains a real beauty in what was a difficult year and, with its usual tannic underlay, it’s going to age well.
