In good years, Yarra Valley Cabernet soars to great heights. In this case winemaker David Bicknell has taken it into rarefied air. Both powerful and elegant, it’s a medium-bodied wine with a seductive perfumed opening of violet infused red fruits with a trace of brick dust. The palate is exceptional with a firm thread of fine chalky tannins keeping it honest while the oak has been perfectly applied. The textured mouth feel extends to a very long precise and focused finish. It is a wine that will handle extended cellaring.
