Silkwood Estate The Walcott Pinot Noir 2019

Share

There is a big step up here from Silkwood’s The Bowers Pinot Noir with the style moving from pretty and supple to diving deep into this grape variety’s darker side. It opens up savoury – wet earth and farmyard scented fruits that slowly evolves into more fleshy dark cherry and mulberry with oak sitting in the background. It’s then dry and juicy – fruit is concentrated over a bed of supple tannins that draw out a very long, tangy and spicy finish. It’s a strong release for this label.
