One smart Pinot at one smart price that so nicely captures the Best’s philosophy of wine for all. The producer regularly over delivers and as it celebrates its 160th birthday this year, it’s got some excellent 2025 vintage wines to toast the occasion. Pointed aromas of heady red berries and cherries and woody spice fills the bouquet. In keeping with its cool, temperate climate, Great Western is well-suited to Pinot Noir. Note the light peppery spiciness working its way across the palate, together with bay leaf and earth which serve to meld, highlighting the red fruit and sweet, ripe plums. Smooth running right to the end with a juicy freshness that makes it hard not to consider opening right now. Don’t fight it, it’s ready to go.
