Singlefile Single Vineyard Mount Barker Riesling 2024

A nose that draws you in with toasty hints of melted butter and honey, jasmine, roast lemon, and vadouvan and curry leaf spice. Sitting in the savoury spectrum, yet on the palate, it giggles with red apple skin, hints of toffee apple, candied lemon and toasted barley. There’s an understated popcorn note on the finish, which provides a flinty kick, and loose-knit phenolics offer plenty of mouth-coating joy alongside the tightrope acid profile. A little number with fruit in the riper spectrum, but by no means fleshy, and with oodles of savoury kick for those that like to be surprised. I can imagine so much versatility when it comes to food pairing.
