The Small Victories ladies are back with a brand-new lot of 2021 reds, like this Shiraz from grapes grown on their Elderton family vineyard in Eden Valley. The wine is an inviting deep, inky purple in the glass and offers an abundance of blackberry, black plum, and black cherry aromas, with a rich note of dark chocolate and hint of black pepper. Full-bodied and ripe, the black fruits are framed by liquorice, and savoury cedar oak notes from maturation in seasoned French oak. This is chewy, ripe and intense, and finishes with fruit-driven length that carries on and on, and lovely dusty tannins. Fabulous with a Mongolian lamb stir-fry too.
