Squitchy Lane Vineyard Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2019

Share

A richly embroidered chardonnay courtesy of some lovely fruit, fermentation in barrel and extended lees contact. It all adds up to very good drinking. Delivers plenty of Yarra Valley elegance but, importantly, if you are in a cellaring mood, there is the kind of acidity that will send it into further complex tasting territory via bottle ageing. The wine brings together heady aromas of quince, apple, green papaya, mandarin skin, nectarine and lime . . . it’s chock full of attractive aromas. Not shy in the least to taste, however that luscious Yarra style is trimmed nicely by the arrival of an almost tart quince-like acidity. It smacks the lips and brings everything together – very nice indeed.
