St Hugo Signature Collection Barossa Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2021

Share

Great example here of why GSM blends can be beautifully built for delicious, youthful drinking. Bright crimson in colour with a purple rim, the aromas are bright and vibrant with an enticing fruit lift, carbonic maceration providing a jubey/ fruit pastille impact before launching into more blackberry, leather and earth with touches of tobacco and some sweet oak sitting behind. Dry and with quite a savoury heart on the palate and a bit more serious than expected, there is good generosity and complexity, a lovely supple mouthfeel supported by gentle sandy tannins. Fantastic power and length top off a brilliant all round package that will peak in the next year or two but also hold on for a while after that.
