Hare’s Chase Lepus Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022

Share

If Vigilance shows the power that can come with Shiraz sourced from the Marananga sub-region of the Barossa Valley, then Lepus shows the intrinsic beauty and elegance. A “special parcel” of fruit was kept separate and with good reason. There is an intensity and concentration of fruit on show with some pretty smart tannins in place, lithe and generous, and the overall effect can be summed up in one word: sophistication. Tannins are woven through black berries, black cherry, plum, aniseed with a layer of warm vanillin oak seasoning and heady spices. Oak is not an over-statement but a helpful conduit for some high-quality fruit.
