Straight Up by Phillip Moraghan Pinot Noir 2019

Share

Look what arrived today – a new wine from an old friend. I started buying Phillip Moraghan’s wines from Curly Flat in the Macedon Ranges in 2004. I met Jeni and Phil and instantly loved the wines. And then helped them on their way. It was a great privilege to be one of the first to find and promote these wines and I always feel a personal connection to them.

This wine is from Philip’s new collaboration with Naked Wines. Great again to see a new journey start. Incidentally the wine is a delicious, savoury Yarra Pinot – an impressive start and a pleasure to see Phil making wine again after a bit of a hiatus. It is pale in colour and immediately complex and inviting with sappy, floral, spicy wild raspberry fruits and lots of earthy goodness. For a Pinot at this price it is perfumed and subtle but needs a little time to settle. Nice job Phillip and Naked Wines. You can find out more about this wine here.
