It’s hard to imagine a better example of a mature Aussie Riesling, and one that still has plenty of cellaring time if you wish. It’s sourced from up in the cool Eden Valley and over many years has been considered one of Australia’s greatest Rieslings. The colour has moved ever so slightly and the distinctive mature notes of toast and honey with a slightly buttery character emerge. But these are still in the earliest stages and will continue to deepen with even greater complexity. Do yourself a favour and check this baby out.

Ray Jordan has been writing about wine for more than 40 years. From 1989 Ray wrote more than 3000 columns as a regular newspaper wine columnist. He currently writes a regular column for the special business publication Business News and is one of the main contributors to national wine platform Wine Pilot. His love of wine is as strong as his love of the blues and tasting the thousands of wines that cross his bench each year allows him to indulge in both.
