Tar & Roses Nebbiolo Rosé 2019

Share

You don’t see it very often but Nebbiolo can be a great grape variety to craft serious rosé. Not the sweet, pink wines full of watermelon fruit but the more savoury, earthy and food friendly styles with very crisp, mouth-watering acidity. If you like Riesling or Chenin Blanc, then Nebbiolo Rosé is sure to hit the spot.

This example is pale salmon pink in colour and shows subtle cranberry and dried herb fruits. It’s then bone dry and mid-weight with that characteristic Nebbiolo acid hit driving a long and very crisp finish. Not all Rosé is made for the table but this wine needs something spicy or seafood to bring out its delicious best.
