The Lane Block 1 Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2021

Share

Block 1 is a step up in quality from The Lane’s regional series as fruit has been sourced from one of their favourite vineyards with barrel ferment and ageing used to very good effect. But don’t think this is an oaky style with the wood influence quite restrained and well matched to cool climate fruit aromas. Pale in colour, this is already showing well with melon, citrus and floral aromas lifted by spicy, understated oak. It’s a modern, acid driven style that is linear right now but you also get a strong feeling that it will build more texture and weight with time in the bottle. Attractive concentration and length round out what is a very respectable Adelaide Hills Chardonnay.
