The Lane Provenance VP Fortified Shiraz 2022

Share

A cool climate fortified vintage Shiraz is an uncommon sight, but you have to admire the courage of the winemakers’ convictions and the result. It’s early days – way too early as yet for opening – with emerging blackberry scents, anise, cherry liqueur and marzipan aromas. Fortified with a blend of aged and light brandy spirit and matured 16 months in French oak, it brings sweetness and spice to the palate in chocolate, panforte and liquorice notes, together with fine tannins. A clean spirit finish and a lasting spiciness with just a note of heat to close. Give it a good 10 years in bottle.
