Thicker Than Water Omerta Shiraz 2023

Share

Big red wine territory here we come. Big oak, too, lots of it, matured in 80% new French hogsheads for 34 months to be precise. This has to be said early because that’s pretty well the overriding character in this McLaren Vale giant, start to finish, just so you know that you’re heading into a wide-bodied, forestry worker Shiraz, sweet and rich, measuring 15% abv, yet with all its volume switches dialed to the max it displays its own, cut-timbered expression of generosity and balance. Designed as a heavyweight and, dare it be said again, fully oaked wine to please those with a taste for such old-master styling.
