Vignerons Schmölzer & Brown Brunnen Pinot Noir Beechworth 2022

Share

Tessa says “100% whole berry, all wild ferments of around 20-25 days duration. Mlf and ageing in barrique, one in four being new. 18 months in oak before racking and bottling

A lovely lift of raspberry coulis draws you in, providing prettiness from the outset, followed by brown spice, decaying leaf, and earthy notes that keep you there. Red fruit notes emerge with air – red cherry liqueur, cranberry, red liquorice. There’s a savoury salty kick through it all adding interest and intrigue. Focused and pure, fine and complex. The palate is lithe and lifted with a good vein of immediate chalky tannins and a wash of acidity carrying the red fruits long. Cherry, cranberry, earth and subtle spice. A fine boned Pinot Noir with gentle but significant length.
