Voyager Estate Girt by Sea Cabernet Merlot 2017

Share

A very interesting vintage for this wine that, thanks to the cooler year, has taken on a real Bordeaux feel. Gone is the powerful sweet fruit from the Margaret River which has been replaced by a much more savoury, earthy and food-friendly style.

The wine shows good colour and then displays gravel, cedar and leafy aromas with red currant and black olive complexity. The palate is then supple and soft, with merlot fleshiness providing good drinkability. It is a relatively complex everyday drinking red well suited to Shepard’s Pie.
