Voyager Estate MJW Chardonnay 2016

Margaret River Chardonnay lays claim to being the best in Australia with Leeuwin Estate Art Series leading the way for many years. But there are wines coming for the crown and arguably have now taken top spot. This is one of them – Voyager Estate’s MJW Chardonnay, with typical Margaret River purity and power but with added detail.

It is a powerful, fine and detailed Chardonnay showing classic aromatics of praline, apple and citrus with a touch of floral and peat complexity wrapped up in a cloak of spicy oak and savoury barrel ferment. Bright and beautifully youthful and pure with chalky acidity, it needs a little time to come into optimal balance but is already absolutely delicious with a great future ahead.
