Immediately, resolutely, displays an air of class. There’s an upfront purity of Cabernet Sauvignon in intense aromas of crushed herbs, blackberry, cassis, spice. It’s a trademark Margaret River character captured well by the viticulturist and amplified by the winemaker. The palate is tight and focused with sturdy tannins holding court. While it is clearly very early in its development, this young Cabernet is slowly unwinding and revealing not only a solid structure for a bright future ahead, but a body of finely detailed Cabernet fruit dressed in smart oak. The wine’s leafy herbal interplay is a special attraction. All up, a memorable Margs ’22 Cabernet. Definitely a new wine name for me and one to remember. It shows a confidence with Cabernet that elevates it into a class above the ordinary.
